Frequently asked questions
What are extraction forceps used for in veterinary dentistry?
Extraction forceps are used to grasp and remove teeth or tooth fragments following luxation and elevation. They provide a secure grip to allow controlled extraction with minimal trauma to surrounding tissue.
What is the difference between the Extremma and Ultremma forceps?
The Extremma is designed for canine extractions with a beak profile suited to larger tooth crowns. The Ultremma offers controlled and efficient removal across a wider range of extraction scenarios. Both feature a spring-loaded handle and fenestrated design for superior grip.
Is the iM3 Sapphira Extraction Forceps autoclavable?
Yes. All iM3 Sapphira Extraction Forceps are fully autoclavable to 134°C and constructed from high-quality stainless steel.
Why does this instrument have a matte finish?
The matte finish eliminates the micro-reflections that can obstruct the surgical field under operatory lighting, improving visibility and reducing eye strain during intraoral work.
